A BOROUGH council has made a number of changes to its services for the upcoming bank holiday.

Copeland Council has announced that all household waste, recycling and garden waste collections will take place one day later than normal that week (including a Saturday collection for those who would ordinarily be collected on Friday, May 7).

It has also released its out-of-hours numbers for a range of issues.

The council’s out-of-hours emergency number for issues relating to homelessness and domestic abuse support is 01946 598300.

For dangerous structures, call 01946 427121 out of office hours.

For flooding, sandbags requests for residential properties and serious food safety incidents, call 01946 427171 out of office hours. Alternatively, to request sandbags for residential properties, email sandbags@copeland.gov.uk.

The councils' offices remain closed to the public due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
