AN enterprising woman who set up a unique business has been delighted with the response.

Hannah McCulloch, 28, lives near Cockermouth. Earlier this month, she launched Lake District Igloos.

The igloos are delivered, personalised and set up at homes or businesses.

They accommodate up to six people and all sorts of packages can be created, from snugs and cinemas to girls’ nights and dining experiences.

Hannah hopes to give couples, families and friends an extra special day that is unique to them.

“I set up at the beginning of April.

“The igloos mean people can enjoy their outside space — in all weathers.

“If it’s raining or windy we have heaters,” said Hannah.

“It’s gone really well so far.

“We have several different packages and a range of colour schemes which can all be customised to make it totally bespoke for people.”

People can be outside and enjoy the special space, whether they’re celebrating birthdays and anniversaries or having a special meal.

Prices start at £200 and there are all sorts of optional extras customers can select, including caterers.

Hannah is working with local caterers, who can provide grazing platters or cakes. She hopes to work with other local businesses in the future

Hannah, who works for an insurance company in customer service and marketing, first came across the igloos on the Instagram accounts of various social influencers.

“They are popular with social influencers down south.

“There seemed to be nothing around here so I wanted to set up a business and offer the igloos.

“They are something completely different and offer people a unique experience.”

The igloos can be delivered throughout the area, including the Lake District.

Hannah has received support from her family and the network of independent businesses in the area.

“One of the things I’ve thoroughly enjoyed about setting up a business is just the support I’ve got locally and the number of people that send really nice, warm well wishes.

She wants her business to give back. “Anything that’s an add-on, we want it to be from a local supplier. I want my business to support local business.”
