Eligible businesses in the area are starting to receive their Restart Grant Payments.
The Government has stipulated that a number of checks must be made before payments can be issued.
The council is asking businesses for their patience at this time as their team completes all the necessary steps and awaits the pre-payment checks being returned.
Grants of up to £18,000 will be paid to businesses in the hospitality, leisure, personal care and accommodation sectors.
Grants of up to £6,000 will be paid to non-essential retail businesses.
Businesses that secure a grant will be notified by Copeland Borough Councils account as soon as payments have been sent.
For those that have already received Covid-19 related grant support do not need to apply for this payment.
