THE easing of coronavirus restrictions has allowed us to get out and about – and that means more people taking amazing photographs like this.

This stunning photograph of an RAF Hawk was taken by Mindaugas Keraitis, a photographer from Flimby, at Ullswater on Friday.

The Hawk first flew at Dunsfold in Surrey – now the home of BBC’s Top Gear – back in 1974, and has been used as a training aircraft ever since.

The jet has also found fame with the Red Arrows display team.

The Lake District has long been used by the RAF to train pilots in the art of low flying for both experienced crews and students undertaking Basic Fast Jet Training, Advanced Flying Training and those from the Defence Helicopter School.
