A road in Whitehaven could remain closed until the end of May, with delays likely.

Cumbria County Council issued a notice which prohibits the passing of vehicles down Flatt Walks, Whitehaven from its junction with Irish Street extending in a south easterly direction for a total distance of approximately 400m, as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

A suitable alternative route for north west bound vehicles will be signed and available via Back Corkickle, Inkerman Terrace, Loop Road South (A595), Loop Road North (A595), New Road, Bransty Row, George Street, Church Street, Duke Street, Scotch Street.
