A SCHOOL has been able to double its pre-school offering thanks to a new building.

Children at Seascale Primary School nursery could only attend for 15 hours a week because of social distancing.

Parents and children have been waiting since the new school was built to be able to take advantage of the full offering.

Now the new building has been finished, the school is able to offer 30 hours a week of pre-school nursery.

For headteacher Avril Spencer, it has been the culmination of a lot of hard work.

She said: “I am delighted to see our nursery class opening its doors to offer 30 hours to pre-school children in Seascale.

“It is something we have been wanting to do for a quite some time, but have had to wait until we were settled into our wonderful new building.

“This provision will help to ensure all pupils have access to move up to 30 hours of high-quality preschool experience in the local area.

“Our new premises and highly skilled staff provided an excellent start for the pupils at Seascale School this year and we look forward to welcoming our preschool children for 30 hours of nursery provision.”
