The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for Cumbria which starts at 11am this morning.
This comes as just across the border in Scotland there is an amber warning in place for rain.
The warnings for wind and rain are expected to last until tomorrow.
A spokesman for the Met office said: " Heavy rain may cause some surface water impacts across Cumbria.
"Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely
"Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.
"Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer."
