The community are being urged to have their say on an aspect of police work by completing an online survey.

The National Police Chiefs Council has launched a Public Engagement Survey, asking the community to have their say on the use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition.

Imaging technology is used by police to identify vehicles on the road, prosecuting speeding.

A spokesperson for the NPCC said: "Your views and experiences are vital to shaping a meaningful strategy for the use of ANPR in policing. We recognise that a partnership approach will be the only way to deliver lasting solutions. Therefore, consultation is key."

Cumbria police have joined calls to fill out the survey which can be done in minutes.
