An emergency road closure has been put in place due to the likelihood of danger as a result of an electrical fault.
The location is C4033 Coach Road, Whitehaven, from its junction with the access road to "Whitehaven Rugby Club", south westerly for around 40 metres.
The notice came in on January 6 and will be in force for a period of up to 21 days. It is thought that the restriction will be required for seven days.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be available via the unrestricted sections of Coach Road, Low Monkwray, Meadow View, Low Road, St Bees Road, Mirehouse Road, A595, Inkerman Terrace and Back Corkickle.
