Hundreds of miles to exercise is not staying local.

This comes as Cumbria police deal with more than 500 covid-19 breaches during the weekend.

In an interview with BBC Cumbria, Cumbria Constabulary’s Assistant Chief Constable, Andrew Slattery, explained there had been 559 breaches of which 68 people were issued with a fixed penalty notice.

During this time some people had been found to have travelled from Liverpool and Northamptonshire.

Mr Slattery said: "The virus doesn't spread itself, the virus came here from the South East very quickly because it travels with people moving around the country and the government scientists are very clear that we've got to reduce the number of people travelling around the country and that's why this stay local message is very important."
