ARRIVAL flights from the UK have been banned by more than 40 countries as concerns grow around a new variant of coronavirus.
Countries blocking travel from the UK include Spain, India and Hong Kong.
On Sunday, France closed its border to the UK for 48 hours, stopping the arrival of lorries and ferries from Dover.
Eurotunnel passage to France is suspended as are Eurostar trains to Belgium.
The new mutation of coronavirus is a source of concern for the UK Government as it is believed to be 70 per cent more transmittable.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson is holding crisis talks with the Government’s emergency committee.
Vaccine supplies from Belgium are not expected to be impacted.
