Moor Row Community Primary School was determined not to let Covid spoil their judo lessons this year.
The school worked out a way to have socially distanced judo lessons with Janice Knight, from JudoKnight. Janice has been coming in every Wednesday to teach the year 1 and 2 class the basics of judo.
It’s a new way of teaching judo as everyone is socially distanced and they can not touch each other, so the children used a teddy to practise their moves on. They are all having lots of fun learning something new from an expert.
Mrs Kennedy, sports co-ordinator at the school said: “PE is very important at Moor Row and we weren’t going to let Covid stop us. I spoke to Janice and we worked everything out to Covid regulations so we didn’t have to miss out and the children absolutely love it! Janice will be returning in the new year to start judo with the other year groups so no one misses out. It’s been a great success!”
