The government website for people to check which lockdown tier they will be in crashed within minutes of going live.

People accessing the website were told it was experiencing technical difficulties.

It is said to have occurred because so many people were trying to visit the website at the same time. However, it has been reported that it is now operational again and people are able to enter their postcodes to find out the level of restrictions in their area when we come out of lockdown next week.

There are three tiers, with tier one being the lowest level of restrictions and tier three being the highest.

MP, Boris Johnson announced earlier this week that the restrictions would be tougher than last time.

From December 2, Allerdale, Carlisle, Copeland and Eden will all be in Tier 2 restrictions.
