POLICE were called to an incident in Dalton yesterday morning after an elderly gentleman drove into a bench and a wall outside of a betting shop.

Cumbria Police were called to the collision at around 9am after receiving a report of a fail to stop road traffic collision on Tudor Square, Dalton.

The incident involved one vehicle, a Citroen Picasso.

The driver, a man in his 70s from Barrow was uninjured after the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Dalton Community Action group said: "Barrow Borough Council have been notified about the damage to the seat and will be inspecting it today (yesterday) with a view to removing if necessary."
