FORMER Liberal Democrat Leader and South Lakes MP Tim Farron hosted a virtual Q&A session at a Cumbrian school.

Tim spoke to the Year 5 and 6 pupils Ambleside primary school where they asked him about the inner workings of his job.

The virtual visit was part of UK Parliament week which encourages young people to engage in politics and parliament

Questions included ‘What are you doing in Cumbria to help with the coronavirus outbreak? ‘do you have to go to University to be an MP?’ and ‘How do the votes get counted when there’s an election or when you’re voting in Parliament?’

Tim said: “It was a really lovely virtual Q&A where the pupils asked me lots of brilliant and intelligent questions.

“They also showed me their fantastic bonfire night Houses of Parliament artwork and in return I got to show them the newest addition to the Farron family- our 14 week old Chocolate Labrador, Ted."
