Podcasts sharing a wealth of information for all has been launched by one key figure.

Mayor of Copeland Mike Starkie is hosting the series of podcasts, offering advice on how to stay safe and get support during this second national lockdown to all residents and businesses across the borough.

He is joined by council colleagues and partners for the half-hour videos, with key topics including homelessness, housing, domestic violence support, business grants, council tax and more all covered in the first three sessions.

Mr Starkie said: “Since the start of this pandemic, we have used the range of communication methods available to us to get accurate and timely information and advice to our residents when they need it most, including newsletters, media releases, social media and our website.

“This series of video podcasts that I started in March and am continuing in this second lockdown is another example of our commitment to keeping our residents and businesses fully informed and engaged.

“I know that viewers are finding them extremely useful because Our community gets to hear from our officers and partners who are involved on the ground every day, in the grants process or working with people who find themselves in difficulty, for example.

"Often their great work goes unseen but it’s never more important for our community to know about the outstanding work that is going on at Copeland Council and by our partners, and how they can access this support if they need it.”
