Support is available for VICTIMS of domestic abuse, even during the coronavirus pandemic.

Staying at home does not mean staying safe for some, which is why support services are still available for victims of domestic abuse.

For help and advice about domestic abuse, call Refuge’s Freephone National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 200 0247. The Respect phone line is also available on 0808 802 4040.

In an emergency call 999, if you are not in immediate danger, contact your local neighbourhood policing team.

A spokesperson for the UK Government said: “The police take domestic violence seriously and will be able to help and protect you.”

“Household isolation instructions as a result of coronavirus do not apply if you need to leave your home to escape domestic abuse.
