Two popular markets have been cancelled due to forecasts of 40mph gusts.
Allerdale Council has cancelled its markets in Keswick and Workington today for safety reasons.
Heavy rain is predicted for most of the day, according to the Met Office.
Tomorrow will see heavy rain in the morning changing to sunny intervals by mid-morning.
Downpours are expected to ease by late afternoon, before returning again by early evening.
A spokesman for Allerdale Council said: "Apologies.
"We'll be back usual time and day next week, weather permitting."
