THE talents of an award-winning glass artist, an oil painter and a watercolour artist will be in full view at Lowes Court Gallery during November.

The work of glass artist Roxanne Denny, Dilys Brownrigg and Chris Robson will be highlighted at the Egremont gallery until the end of next month.

Award-winning glass artist Roxanne works from her home studio near Cockermouth.

Trading as RD Glass, she produces unique fused glass wall art, cast glass sculptures, bowls, coasters and jewellery – all in her signature bright and abstract style.

While working for an applied arts degree, she fell in love with glass as she found it was in that medium that she could best combine her love of colour and light. Many of her designs feature bold and vivid colours, based on abstract geometric patterns, which reflect and transmit light to spectacular effect.

The work of Dilys Brownrigg also exhibits a love of colour, as represented in her featured oil paintings.

Dilys lives in St Bees, and has painted all of her life.

She is inspired by the environment and tries to capture aspects of beauty across her range of subject matter.

This includes landscapes, figures, flowers, drapery, animals and Celtic patterns. She said: “My inspiration has always been the sea, the Lake District and nature, looking at yesteryear and today. I am particularly fascinated by the Celts – their gods and the life they led.”

Chris Robson paints mostly in watercolours.

A long-standing resident of St Bees, his work is widely recognised locally for having a somewhat individual take on life scenes.

Some of his pieces feature figures in silhouette engaged in various activities. They can be walking, riding, or even hanging onto umbrellas on a bracing day at the beach!

Often painted in his favoured palette of blues and yellows, Chris manages to create an almost surreal twilight atmosphere.

The gallery, on Main Street, Egremont, will be open from 10am to 1pm, Monday to Saturday.
