A poppy appeal has gone out to the public ahead of Remembrance Day.
Whitehaven Town Council is calling on all local crafters in an appeal to help knit or crochet poppies to make a tribute.
The council would like to make a poppy display.
They said on their Facebook page: "The Town Council are making a poppy display to remember all who fought to protect our country."
If people have spare time and would like to contribute some knitted or crocheted poppies the council has knitting patterns and crochet patterns available from the town council office at 148 Queen Street, Whitehaven (the former Whitehaven News Office).
They added: "All poppies made would be greatly appreciated."
