A WEST Cumbrian councillor has praised the "excellent partnership" behind the completion of foreshore improvement works.

Improvement works have now been completed at the St Bees foreshore.

The works have been delivered by Copeland Council with the support of St Bees parish council.

Six bike stands have now been installed next to the car park. The topsoil has been replaced, and a grassed area has been planted to replace the former dog toilet.

Copeland councillor Jeffrey Hailes, who represents St Bees, praised the “excellent partnership working for the benefit of the community” that made the project a success.

A Copeland Council spokesman added that the project has helped to develop the skills of the council's parks and open spaces team.
