AN annual awards ceremony will go ahead this year - but digitally.
While traditional competition activity has not been possible this year, many communities, individuals and schools have been submitting projects, stories and photographs to Cumbria in Bloom at www.cumbria-in-bloom.org.uk.
More than 50 projects have been submitted as well as numerous photos and stories.
A spokeswoman for Cumbria In Bloom said: “We have been delighted and encouraged by this positive response which has come in from all parts of the county.
“We cannot have a traditional Awards Ceremony this year; so instead, we will be presenting digitally the general certificates via a Zoom meeting on October 22 to which all recipients will be invited to attend."
The Exceptional Effort Awards are as follows: Outstanding Community Participation; Variety of Projects in a Community; Village Gardens; Individual Initiative; School Gardening; Resilience in Difficult times; Wildlife Projects. Winners will receive a framed certificate .
