A WHITEHAVEN man who was sick in a police van and urinated in a cell was told to abide by a curfew.

Lee Walker, 29, of Coach Road, appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Friday.

The court heard that on August 19 he damaged the rear cage of a police vehicle by spitting and being sick in it.

Walker also urinated in a police cell and threatened a custody sergeant. Magistrates heard he threatened violence towards officers and also threatened to bite them.

Walker also used threatening behaviour towards a customer at the Rack Shack.

He admitted all the offences.

Both the police vehicle and the cell required a deep clean and Walker was ordered to pay £200 compensation.

He must be at his home address between 7pm and 7am every day for eight weeks and the curfew will be electronically monitored.

Walker was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £90 victim surcharge.
