PICTURES show several iconic British Airways 747s lined up at salvage yard - in a sign of the troubling times ahead for the aviation industry.

The planes are being stored at Cotswold Airport near the village of Kemble, Glos. - which doubles up as a business scrap facility.

Air Salvage International is based at the site and could have its eye on the jumbo jets, which still bear the airline's classic logo.

The images show a number of planes parked up by the airfield's perimeter fence as the sun sets.

The aviation industry has already buckled up for turbulent times in the near future as the effects of coronavirus hit.

Jobs, flight paths and even airports are thought to be at risk as the economy tries to recover.
