A CHARITY in West Cumbria is providing a safety net to those affected by rape, exploitation as well as sexual and domestic abuse.

Safety Net are providing support from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday for those in Cumbria who have suffered rape, exploitation, sexual or domestic abuse.

Safety Net provide a trauma-informed therapy service to those in need.

One in two Cumbrians know someone who has experienced domestic violence, one in three know someone who has experienced sexual abuse and exploitation.

However only one in five are aware of Safety Net's support. Donations help spread the word on the charity's vital work.

Over the years, the registered charity has received support from the Police and Crime Commissioner, Children in Need, Cumbria Community Foundation and more.
