The Bigrigg Circle Club presented its 52 members with an afternoon tea and bouquet of flowers in lieu of a planned day trip.
The group, which meets at Bigrigg village hall, had its trip cancelled due to Covid-19 and club chairman Sheila Ratcliffe thought of the idea of giving the members something to cheer them up after losing out.
The afternoon teas and flowers were paid for out of the members’ funds as that was how the trip was to be paid for.
The cakes were supplied by Emma Rogers, who owns Emma’s Bakes based in the village.
