A GARDEN is set to open up to visitors to help raise money for vital nursing and caring charities.
Grainne Jakobson will open her gates, in Woodend, Egremont, with Covid restrictions present, on August 8/9 and against on September 12/13 for the National Garden Scheme who raise money for charities such as Macmillan Cancer Care, Marie Curie Nurses, Hospice UK, Carers Trust, MS society, Parkinsons UK and many more.
She said: "This year, of course, we have not been able to open in the usual way and are anticipating over an 80 per cent drop in funding. In Cumbria we normally have about 60 gardens around the county that open. Some gardens are now re-opening under the new Covid regulations including mine."
Bookings have to be made via the website for specific slots with limited numbers. Social distancing measures will be in place. Bookings can be made at www.ngs.org.uk from the Monday prior to each opening.
