Here are some of the happy couples who have recently got married and shared their special day in The Whitehaven News.

Kirsty Burns and Marcus Leslie, of Grisedale Close in Mirehouse, Whitehaven, got married on November 22 of last year on their 13th anniversary, with a ceremony at Cockermouth Town Hall, followed by celebrations at the Chase Hotel in Whitehaven.

Tom and Megan Watson had a wonderful wedding weekend when they tied the knot on November 2, 2019.

The couple, who both work at the Low Level Waste Repository, were helped by Gemma Kelsall and her team from Bluebells and Daisies to create Megan's vision of an autumn woodland at the Laura Ashley Belsfield Hotel in Windermere.

Nicola Colley and David Thompson from Bransty in Whitehaven were wed this year on the very day they were celebrating 16 years together.

The couple tied the knot in Liverpool on February 8.

Nicola, 32, works for the NHS, while David, 38, is a plumber.

They have two sons, Kylan, 14, and Lucas, 11.

Whitehaven couple Faye Jackson and Matthew McAllister got married on September 14 last year at the Seacote in St Bees.

Faye, 35, is a debt advisor for United Utilities and Matthew, 37, works at Sellafield.

Camilla Mason, 33, and Rob Miller, 38, have known each other since 1999 through friends but it was not until they met up again in 2015, as Rob invited Camilla for a surfing lesson in Whitley Bay, that they began to date.

The couple got married at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Keswick.

Adam Chambers and Kimberley Hawkins met at sixth form ten years ago and have been together ever since.

The couple tied the knot on April 6 of last year at The Red Admiral in Gosforth in a huge marquee, where they had a humanist ceremony.

Adam, 28, is a postie delivering to the Hensingham area of Whitehaven, while Kimberley, 26, is also a postie, serving the Banklands area of Workington.

They live in Ashfield, Workington, with their daughter Harper Eden Chambers.

Sellafield workers Lindsey Stables and Adam Frankham got married on August 24, but had been together since 2011.

They tied the knot at All Souls Church in Maryport, followed by a wedding reception at the Low Wood Bay Hotel in Windermere.
