A Whitehaven man accused of injuriously imprisoning a woman and detaining her against her will is due to appear in court next month.
Niall Keenan, 25, of Richmond Terrace, is due to appear at the crown court in Carlisle on August 7.
Keenan is charged with five offences:
- Unlawfully and injuriously imprisoning a woman and detained her against her will on December 29 in Brigham
- Stealing a car key belonging to the same woman
- Driving a Seat Leon dangerously in Brigham on the same day
- On January 16 in Whitehaven assaulting emergency workers Scott Farmer and Andrew Ruddick, two police officers acting in the exercise of their duty
When he appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Friday, Keenan was granted unconditional bail until his next hearing at the crown court next month.
Due to the seriousness of some of the allegations, the case can only be dealt with at the crown court.
