Police officers were called to a superstore following reports of an alleged assault outside the property.
Cumbria police were called at about 7.45pm last Wednesday to the report of an incident of assault outside the Tesco on New Bridge Road, Workington.
On arrival they discovered a 19-year-old man had suffered a leg injury, but it was not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers investigating say they have found no evidence that an assault took place. They say the injuries may have been self-inflicted.
Anyone with information about the incident or who was in the store at the time, is encouraged to call the police on 101, quoting incident number 227 of 8 July. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
