A major fashion and furniture chain has slashed its prices throughout all of its Cumbrian stores.

Laura Ashley branches in Carlisle, Kendal and Workington have seen huge discounts added to all of its products.

Everything is discounted by at least 40 per cent in the stores’ closing down sale, this comes into effect immediately.

Shoppers can grab up to half off the cost of furniture, lighting and bedding, with at least 50 per cent also slashed off all womenswear and fashion accessories.

Ready-made curtains have a massive 60 per cent reduction.

All the branches are ‘Covid secure’ and the store adheres to a strict policy of social distancing with a limited number of shoppers allowed in-store at any time.

There is also regular deep cleaning and card payments are encouraged.

Laura Ashley began in the 1950s, quickly becoming famous for its unique printed fabrics. Over time, the brand grew to become the household name of today, synonymous with quality fashion, interiors and home furnishings.

The stores will continue to trade until further notice.

A spokesman for Laura Ashley said, “With 50 per cent off all furniture, customers can find some beautiful, quality pieces at an amazing price.

"Furniture has proved popular since the sale began, so if you’re looking for a particular item, be sure to check online as well as in store for your best chance.

"We expect the range to sell fast at half price.”

Despite the store closures that will follow the ‘everything must go’ sale, the Laura Ashley brand will remain online and at retailers nationwide.

A spokesman for Laura Ashley said: “There are some fantastic deals to be found in-store, as everything is now reduced.

"We are extremely mindful of the current Covid crisis and customers can be assured that the stores will be Covid secure.”
