Four people have been arrested after a car was allegedly taken and crashed in West Cumbria.
Police were called to a collision involving one vehicle between Great Broughton and Broughton Moor on Monday night at approximately 7.30pm.
The vehicle, a black VW Golf, was badly damaged and had to be recovered.
A 37-year-old man from Cockermouth was arrested on suspicion of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and being over the prescribed alcohol limit.
A 33-year-old man from Maryport was arrested on suspicion of driving while being disqualified and for the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
A woman from Workington, aged 42, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and being over the prescribed alcohol limit.
And a 37-year-old man from Workington was arrested on suspicion of the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
Three of the people were uninjured and the 33-year-old man had minor injuries.
All four have been released under investigation.
