The NHS wellbeing service is encouraging people to get behind its bunting world record challenge.

Before the Covid-19 outbreak, the service asked Cumbrians to make flags, which can be sewn together, with the aim of breaking the world record of 12 miles of bunting.

Now the service is encouraging residents to get behind the project so that people can tackle isolation by feeling part of a collective project.

The completed piece will be put on display. They will need more than 80,500 flags in order to stretch further than 12 miles.

Flags should be reasonably weatherproof, not too heavy, and made with recycled materials where possible.

The top part of the triangular flag, which will connect to the line, needs to be 19cm and the two other sides, which face downwards to a point, should be 25cm each. There should be a 5cm gap between each completed flag.
