Hound trailing will finally begin this weekend – after a length lay-off due to the coronavirus crisis.
The sport, which sees dogs chase an aniseed trail across the countryside, is especially popular in Cumbria.
And the season will restart at the weekend, a couple of months later than usual and under a strict set of rules.
But trailers across the county will be happy to get out and begin racing their charges.
We thought this was a good chance to dig back in our archives and look at some seasons past, with some spectacular action pictures and snaps of past winners and their owners, along with a few spectators.
