A weather warning has been issued by the Met Office, and drivers are urged to take care while out and about.

The yellow warning has been put in place across the North West of England today (June 27), due to heavy rain posing the risk of flooding in some areas.

It is expected to last over the next few days, with no warning currently issued from Tuesday.

In the meantime, the public should be wary of; possible longer journey times on public transport, spray and flooding on roads – potentially adding to car journey times – and possible flooding of homes and businesses.
