Those in shielding groups can now leave their homes thanks to the latest Government advice.
Elderly and vulnerable people who may have been shielding from the Covid-19 pandemic can now leave home as long as they follow social distancing guidelines. From next Monday, vulnerable people will be allowed to meet groups of up to six while maintaining social distancing.
The distancing rule does not need to be observed with other members of your own household.
Shielding will be paused from August, meaning that those previously in the vulnerable category will be able to go out to more places for exercise and buying food, although social distancing and caution around contact is still advised. People can continue to receive food boxes and medicine parcels until the end of July if they wish.
