A mountain rescue team had to be called when a man hurt his ankle.

Penrith Mountain Rescue were called out to Haweswater by the North West Ambulance Service after receiving an 999 call from a 31-year-old male with an ankle injury on May 31.

Poor mobile signal meant the location of the casualty was unclear.

As the team was starting to deploy, the location of the injured man was confirmed as being on the side of the road. With no mountain rescue assistance required the team were then stood down.
