A POLICE investigation has been launched after an attempted robbery took place in Eastleigh.
Officers were called to the University of Southampton sports ground on Wide Lane on Monday June 1 after receiving reports that a man had entered an office building and demanded someone inside to hand over his belongings.
When the person inside the office told him he didn't have anything on him, the man left the building, but now police have released a CCTV image of a man who they would like to speak to in connection with this incident.
The man is described as being white, in his mid 30's, around 5ft 10ins tall and of a medium build.
He was also described to be wearing a grey and blue Nike top.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: "Can you help us identify this man?
"We want to speak with him in connection with an attempted robbery in Eastleigh on Monday afternoon (June 1). While we realise it is not the clearest of images, we hope someone may recognise the man.
"Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak with the man in this CCTV image. If you recognise this man, or have any information that could assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting the reference 44200195512, or alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
