A SMUGGLER who took drugs and phones into a prison has been spared jail.

Victoria Murphy smuggled cannabis, two mobiles, a SIM card and wires into HMP Risley last November.

The 33-year-old, from Manchester, was handed a six-month imprisonment suspended for a year at Liverpool Crown court last month after admitting two counts of conveying a prohibited article into a prison.

She was also given a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to serve a two-month electronically monitored curfew.
