Remote learning has become the norm during lockdown, and one school is doing its best to keep its students' supplies fully stocked.

The Whitehaven Academy is offering free resource packs to pupils, including key pieces of kit, such as exercise books, pens, pencils and more.

The handy kits are available for students to pick up from shops throughout the area.

These include; McColl's and Premier at Mirehouse, Bewsher's at Hesingham Square, Spar at the Pelican Petrol Station, Applegreen Petrol Station at Corkicle, Woodend Store on Scotch Street, Premier at Kells and Woodhouse, Boots at Frizington and Crossfield Garage in Cleator Moor.

Commenting on the packs, headteacher Nigel Youngman said: "Throughout the lockdown period the students and staff’s approach to remote learning has been a source of inspiration.

"This simple solution of students accessing resource packs is only possible because of the wonderful support and cooperation of these businesses involved."

He continued: "Parents are working hard to balance family lives, work and their children’s learning at home.

"The Whitehaven Academy are deeply proud to be part of this supportive community."

The packs will be restocked regularly, giving all pupils the chance to get important resources when they need them.
