THIS week we’ve been asking readers: where the best place to go for a coffee and a natter in the Workington area?
The lockdown has affected many things, not least a casual catch-up over a cuppa and cake.
There’s many great cafes where people could meet up – and with things slowly getting back to normal we know there are many readers who are keen to help local businesses get back on their feet when they re-open.
So here in no particular order, here are some of the best places in the county to get a coffee.
1 THE MAD SCIENTIST, JANE STREET, WORKINGTON
The cafe is a very popular place for locals to have a chinwag.
Karen Fell said: "The Mad Scientist, Workington, lovely place."

"Lovely decor, it's unique as does CBD coffees which are outstanding."

2 BUTTLERFLIES, POW STREET, WORKINGTON
Another much missed cafe people can't wait to see open again.
Judy Hodgson said: "Butterflies in Workington do a great coffee and cake."
Kelly Farmer posted: "Lovely food and the staff are fantastic."
Elaine Boag said:"The food is delicious., the owners know their customers and make everyone welcome.
"The staff are also lovely and always have a smile on their faces."
3 VEEVA!, STATION ROAD, COCKERMOUTH
One of the highlights of this cafe is the staff say Times & Star readers.
Pat Wilson said: "Best coffee in town plus the most pleasant staff."
Katrina Zirins said: "It does great coffee and food and the staff are lovely."

"Always made welcome by friendly staff.

4 WILD ZUCCHINIS, STATION ROAD, COCKERMOUTH
Another popular choice by readers in the town.
Rachel Thomas-Taylor said: "Wild zucchini in Cockermouth, they have continued to make yummy food for collection or delivery during this time.
Best cafe."

5 CAFE CARNEGIE, FINKLE STREET, WORKINGTON
Susan Wells said: "Nice friendly staff that make you welcome and the food is delicious."

"You can sit as long as you want, brilliant."
6 MARIANS CAFE, FINKLE STREET, COCKERMOUTH
Another much missed cafe.
Readers Natalie Wilson and Ellie HC both said the cafe was "great value for money".
