Dozens of homes are without power across the county.
The black-out includes 82 properties in Maryport and 74 in Westmorland.
The first report came for Westmorland just before 7am and properties in Maryport have been without power since just before 3pm.
A spokesman for Electricity North West said: “A power cut, caused by a fault on the overhead electricity network, caused the loss of power to 74 properties in Westmorland this morning at 6:55am.
“Engineers attended site immediately and are working to restore power to all properties as quickly as possible.
“We understand the impact of being without power, especially during these difficult times, if anyone needs any more information during a power cut, you can call us free on 105.”
