Volunteers from across Copeland have pulled together to raise funds for a worthy cause with a pop-up car wash.
Members of the Whitehaven Covid-19 Support Group and the community got involved with a charity car wash outside Better Copeland Pool and Fitness Centre. The car wash was organised by lifeguards at the pool to raise funds for the renovation of Trinity Gardens in Whitehaven.
Volunteers turned out to wash cars for a donation whilst maintaining a social distance. Members of the public volunteered to marshal cars and keep the pop-up car wash running smoothly. Efforts raised £901 for the cause. The Sizzling Simon’s burger van ran by Simon Mattinson was in attendance to feed volunteers for free. Son Jordan, who is also a volunteer with Whitehaven Covid-19 Support Group said: “It was a good day, it was busy from start to finish.”
