A Workington museum is appealing for memories and artefacts to reflect how we fought Covid-19 and lockdown for a future exhibition.
Museum manager Tricia Poole said: “The Covid-19 outbreak has disrupted lives across the globe, many people have died, unfortunately some very close to home, family and friends will never forget them, other things will be much harder to remember in the years to come.
“Everyone out there will have their own stories to tell, we want to hear from you. This includes those that are shielding; pregnant women, those whose weddings were postponed, holidays cancelled, or at home furloughed, NHS workers, key workers, A Level/GCSE students, church closures, memories of pre lockdown, panic buying, also those who have fought the virus and won.”
The museum is also looking for artefacts such as face masks, visors, painted stones, rainbows, drawings, doorstep lockdown photos, and town closed photos.
Email triciap@workingtonheritagegroup.org.uk or hand the objects in once the museum reopens.
