An adventure company in the Lake District is offering free spaces on its adventure activities as a way of thanking NHS workers for their services.

West Lakes Adventure, based at Boot, in the Eskdale Valley, has currently suspended its activities due to Covid-19 restrictions on social distancing, but when they are open again, they would like to give local NHS nurses the chance to take part in some activities.

It said on its Facebook page: “To help celebrate international nurses day, we would like to thank all of our NHS workers putting their lives at risk for us every day in these difficult times.

“We wish to give something back to our local NHS community by offering some free spaces on our activities when we are safe to do so.”

Activities include canoeing, ghyll scrambling, paddle boarding and archery.
