TWO more hospital patients have died in north Cumbria from the Coronavirus according to official figures.

The fatalities were recorded in the daily tally for Thursday by NHS England, put out today - however they could have occurred up to two days prior to publication.

The figures include "information on the deaths of patients who have died in hospitals and had tested positive for COVID-19 or where it was mentioned on the death certificate."

Both occurred when they were being cared for by the North Cumbria Integrated NHS Foundation Trust - this brings the total of recorded deaths for the trust to 128.

Some of these patients were being treated at either The Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle or West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.

On Wednesday it had no recorded Coronavirus deaths.

The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust recorded no additional deaths yesterday but has so far reported a total of 154.

NHS England pointed out that all its figures could be the subject to future updates.
