Vital safety operations are being maintained at Sellafield in "unprecedented" times thanks to Cavendish Nuclear.
Cavendish Nuclear, who have a base in Westlakes Science Park, Whitehaven have quickly adapted to a change in staffing due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Their specialist teams are providing radiological protection instrument services as well as maintenance of radiation protection services.
Allan Blundell, head of the radiometrics equipment programme at Sellafield Limited said: "This has been a truly collaborative approach with the Cavendish Nuclear Radiological Protection Instrumentation team flexing and adapting to meet the site’s changing and emerging needs.
"At the end of the first week, it feels like we’re beginning to settle into a new rhythm. Sellafield both recognises and values the efforts Cavendish Nuclear is making to maintain as `normal` a service as possible under challenging circumstances."
