A MAN has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in public, using threatening behaviour and breach of coronavirus restrictions.
Both charges relate to alleged activity on Queen Street in Whitehaven on Monday.
Peter Birkett, 37, is accused of being with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, using threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear and breaching the coronavirus restrictions on movement.
Birkett, of Birley Court in Whitehaven, will now appear before North and West Cumbria Magistrates on May 5.
