ARRESTS have been made amid an investigation into food contamination in a supermarket which saw two men lick their hands and wipe them over meat, fresh food and fridge handles.
The produce was destroyed and the Sainsbury's store on Lancaster Road, Morecambe, had to be disinfected.
Following a police appeal about the incident, which occurred on April 4, two men were yesterday arrested.
A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said: "We would like to thank everyone who helped with the appeal – your assistance is greatly appreciated as always. Stay safe."
