Emma-Jayne Gooch has been named as chief of staff for Sellafield Limited.

Emma-Jayne, who is currently head of supply chain development and innovation, has taken up the secondment role, which will be for around 18 months.

She was appointed by new chief executive Martin Chown into the new role, which has been created after Mr Chown saw the value it can bring while he was working in Government.

Emma-Jayne will have a broad remit as chief of staff, and will work closely with Mr Chown to help him deliver his strategic priorities for Sellafield Limited.

A spokesman said she will represent Mr Chown at some meetings, act as a sounding board for new ideas and initiatives, and build relationships with stakeholders.

He added: "She will also act as a conduit between Mr Chown and the Sellafield Limited workforce, business leaders, and other executive directors so they can get what the need from the chief executive and his time can be freed up to lead the business."

Although she will be leaving her supply chain role, she will continue to provide communications to the supply chain regarding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

She said: “I am super excited to be taking on this new opportunity, supporting the chief executive as he delivers the strategic priorities of the company.

"I’m leaving an awesome team that will continue to work hard for the supply chain, showing passion and commitment that complement their amazing skills and knowledge."

She was appointed as head of supply chain development and innovation in May 2017.
